It's date night for us! We stayed in for this one. My hunny got the baby down a little early, and I cooked us a simple dinner while he did that. His birthday was recently, and we didn't get to celebrate the way I wanted to for him, so this was his choice. He loves my pasta recipes. I love him. Whatever he wanted, I told him I would make.
This recipe is very easy for an at-home dinner date. It probably took me no longer than an hour to make. Served it with a simple side salad and some bread. Turned on one of our favorite shows. We had a blast.
Pair it with some wine or champagne? Oh, now that's a winner!

Ingredients
2 tbsp. olive oil
7-8 raw chicken tenders, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 tbsp. minced garlic
2 tbsp. butter
salt and pepper
1 tbsp. onion powder
2 1/2 c. heavy cream
1 c. chicken broth
2 tbsp. garlic pepper
1 1/2 c. shredded cheese (parmesan or we used an italian three-cheese blend)
1 lb pasta, cooked, your choice (we used rotini)
Instructions
1. Heat oil in a large, high-walled pan over medium heat. Add chicken and season with salt, pepper and onion powder.
2. Cook chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side, until it's seared and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
3. Add butter and garlic to pan and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
4. Add cream and broth. Take a clean, silicone spatula and "clean" the bottom of the pan.
5. Increase heat to medium-highand bring mixture to a boil then reduce to a simmer.
6. Season mixture with garlic pepper and salt.
7. Add cheese and stir until melted and incorporated.
8. Return chicken to the pan and then add the pasta. Mix until all components are fully coated.
Tips & Tricks
As always, if you are feeling lazy, that roasted chicken thats premade already is gonna be your best friend lol.
Salad is MY favorite side with pasta, but my family prefers canned veggies. So if you have anyone similar, serve this with some corn, green beans, carrots, peas, etc. However they want it, it's still easy to do.
For the best results, I would start your pasta water as soon as you start cooking, that way the pastas cook time lines up with the sauce and everything remains hot.
